Over the past few years, the Lady Gauchos soccer team has demonstrated its talents leading to NCS success. Each player on the team possesses a variety of skills, which sets her apart from the rest of the players in the league.
Defenders, like senior McKenna Moy, have proven themselves to be the driving force on the Lady Gauchos.
Moy’s strong defensive tactics were a fortification for the Lady Gauchos this year. Her qualities were unlike any other players’ in NCS and her anticipation on tackles was always accurately executed and was vital for the Lady Gauchos’ SCL success.
Moy received All-Empire first team for her astonishing talents and efforts as well as all league for SCL and defensive player of the year both junior and senior year at Casa.
“My junior year experience on the bench motivated me to excel this year,” said Moy. “I also want to credit our coach who used competition for positions so that we would work harder. This helped me improve the way I play.”
Moy hopes to carry on playing soccer in her future at college. “I am going to tryout for Saint Mary’s team but if that does not work out I will just play on a club team,” said Moy. “I want to continue playing because I love the sport.”
