The science department has had the career fair for around ten years now. Last year there were roughly around twenty-five speakers, and this year on March 18th and 19th, there were around forty speakers during the two day period.

Both Mr. Brazil (Chemistry and Physics teacher) and Ms. Boyes (Chemistry and physical science) agreed that the CSI presentation was the most popular. Presentations ranged from CSI, nursing, biological sciences, speakers from the Marin Wastewater Treatment, sound engineers, and pilots.  Overall, Mr. Brazil said, “I enjoy being a part of the career fair because it shows students other opportunities and different types of sciences. The speakers really get the students involved in the presentations. They told the students that they had gone through a lot of the same experiences that we students go through today, as well as later on in life. Just because something changes in your life doesn’t mean you should give up, just keep trying. Achievement equals perseverance and commitment.” Ms. Boyes had said that “The reason we do the career fair is so more students will take more science to help them become even better citizens.” This year’s career fair had a great turn out and Mr. Brazil said he was impressed with how well the students and the speakers interacted together.
