Tony Moll, an alumnus of the Dragon football program and current professional football player for the Baltimore Ravens organization, recently made a generous donation of $5,000 to the SVHS football program.

Moll graduated from SVHS in 2001 and continued on to play football at University of Nevada, Reno.  Moll was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2006, then traded to the Baltimore Ravens in 2009.

“Tony Moll is tremendously generous for providing us with this donation,” remarked Coach Mick O’Meara.

The NFL has a policy that states that they will match whatever amount of money a player donates to an organization that is part of their football roots, so they also granted the Dragons’ football program $5,000.  As a result, the SVHS football program received a total grant of $10,000.

“The grant will most likely go towards improvements in facilities such as the weight room, because they are accessible to a large number of people, so more people can benefit from the grant,” stated O’Meara.

The Sonoma football program has struggled with funding in the past and had to work with a sub-par weight room, which is an important training facility for those who play the extremely physical sport of football.

This donation will strongly improve all of the facilities that the football players use to work out with on a regular basis.
